The Unlimited Path has provided substance abuse treatment, mental health and re-entry services to clients in both community and residential settings in partnership with the Florida Department of Corrections since 1995.
The Unlimited Path started providing services in substance abuse treatment in 1995 and continues to provide treatment in prison settings today. We are unique in that we provide services to the State of Florida only. Through this endeavor, we strive to be experts in holistic services to inmates who are going to be released to our home communities. It is our intent to reduce the risk of recidivating in Florida while helping our clients to attain a productive life.
The Unlimited Path is built upon the foundations of substance abuse recovery. Its founders are both in recovery and believe there is no greater mission than that of helping those suffering from substance abuse find and maintain sustained recovery and sobriety from drugs and alcohol usage.
Though not all of our clients suffer from addiction, a majority of the criminal justice population does have high risks and needs that acquire intervention. Additionally, there is a 65 to 75% need of substance abuse treatment in the State of Florida incarcerated population, making our mission to provide holistic treatment and intervention services a much needed effort.
Unlimited Path is a leader in re-entry initiatives for the criminal justice population. Unlimited Path was the first agency to provide holistic re-entry services in prison settings. Starting with the implementation of Baker Correctional Second Chance Act Demonstration Grant where we provided substance abuse treatment, prevention services and transitional planning to offenders within the last 36 months of their sentence. Offenders are linked to a community portal in Duval County through a Florida Department of Correction’s partnership with the Jacksonville Re-Entry Center (JREC), the first portal of its kind in Florida. Our mutual clients were extended opportunities in housing, vocational training and jobs, including enrollment in the local Community College. DADS is another partnership grant that aided incarcerated men with family reunification. While utilizing PolyCom conferencing equipment, we assisted many children with having a relationship with their fathers while incarcerated.
Our involvement in a wide-spectrum of re-entry programming throughout the State of Florida includes two Re-Entry Centers at Baker Re-Entry Center and Gadsden Re-Entry Center, Restrictive Housing Programming for closed custody inmates, SPECTRUM assessments, therapeutic community programs, intensive outpatient treatment programs, outpatient treatment programs, prevention programming, intervention programming, and aftercare services while continually aiming for reintegration and transitional planning to help ex-offenders stay out of the criminal justice system.

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives"
-Henry David Thoreau
